Welcome To

Greenwich Village

An artist's haven and an innovative enclave.

Welcome to Greenwich Village

Greenwich Village is known for its bohemian culture and large artist population. Often at the forefront of significant change, the area has been part of the Beat Generation and the 60s counterculture movement.

The area got its name from its Dutch Settlers from the word Groenwijck, meaning “Green Village.” Due to its residents, the area was filled with small art galleries, alternative theaters, and controversial publications throughout its history. It has been home to cultural icons such as Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendricks, James Taylor, and many others.
